Seven Heroes of the Mississippi
As Mark Twain remarked, the Mississippi is "not a commonplace river, but on the contrary is in all ways remarkable." The Mississippi is one of the largest watersheds in the world. For much of our nation's history, the Mississippi has been of great agricultural, economic, and military significance.
